Flashbacks

May is shaping up to be an exciting month as old favorites are returning with new material. A perfect time for electro newbies to get acquainted with artists who have proven their staying power (and a great excuse for me to revisit my old iTunes playlists!)

Holy Ghost! & Flight Facilities – Flight Facilities’ “Crave You” was the darling hit of the blogosphere in 2010 – so successful the Sydneysiders produced a sequel version. FF has now remixed Brooklyn-based band Holy Ghost!’s newest track. The “Wait and See” EP will include remixes from Moby, Kris Menace, CFCF and more.

Ira Atari – I always get a kick out of quirky German pop artist Ira Atari’s voice. ULTRNX gives her newest single a hard kick in the pants.

Ira Atari & Rampue - My Name Is Ira by Audiolith

RACI don’t know if the talented artists comprising the Remix Artist Collective ever sleep because they release a constant stream of new output. Love this fun take on Thomas Tantrum’s single “Sleep” (EP out March 27th)

NEW:

Thomas Tantrum - Sleep (RAC Mix) by RAC

FLASHBACK: Do yourself a favor and get acquainted with RAC’s entire back catalog (trust me on this one!) - you can download most songs for free on their Soundcloud

Friendly Fires - Hype Machine is streaming Friendly Fires’ new album “Pala” this week. I tend to prefer remixes of Friendly Fires, as their sound gets a bit redundant but it’s a solid effort and worth checking out.

NEW: Album stream on Hypem
