Girl Talk ID’ed
Mashup DJ Girl Talk recently released his fifth studio album entitled All Day to much pomp and circumstance and server-crashing fury. Offered for (gasp!) free on record label Illegal Art’s website, the album samples 372 songs in 71 minutes. I personally find his work too frenetic for long-term listening (I prefer A-Trak’s more subtle song merging and scratch transitions) but I totally respect his skills. For those of you who, like me, go nuts when you can’t identify a particular song – do not fear! Mashup Breakdown is here! This website features an audio player that streams Girl Talk’s album with an accompanying interactive timeline identifying all the samples used. Cool huh?!
