I just came to say Hello!

Well hello, internet… it’s been a while! With everyone asking me for music recommendations lately, I felt compelled to make my triumphant return to blogging. Law school is keeping me very busy but I always make time for electro-rummaging! Here are the tracks on my steady iPod rotation this week:

Aussie duo Parachute Youth have released this brilliant gem of a song from their debut album (soon to be released on iTunes.) Upbeat and dangerously catchy with a gorgeous video filmed in Burkina Faso to match… the only way it could “get better than this” is if they released an extended version!

I don’t care that he’s technically German, Fred Falke is the KING of French House and his remix of Nero’s new single “Reaching Out” is the best of the bunch. Falke tames down the original dubstep version and adds his characteristic house sparkle with a hint of ’80s synth to perfectly accompany the reverberating Hall and Oates vocal sample. Reaching Out (Fred Falke remix) by Fred Falke

Jakob Liedholm is new to the scene and at 15 years old, one of the youngest talents out there. Like his compatriot, Avicii, he has an ear for heightening a song’s danceability. Enjoy his fun remix of NYC duo and eleKtroMess friends, The Knocks: The Prize (Jakob Liedholm X The Knocks Remix) Vocal Mix by jakob Liedholm (Official)

Lastly, two buddies of mine are competing to earn a spot DJing at NY’s Fashion Week. They’re both worthy of the opportunity so check out their 8-minute mixes and give em a vote or two! DJ Travisty mixes funk and hip-hop classics while Kid Killem blends house, pop and electro. I love them both!!!
